WHITE WINE FROM "VIÑEDO SINGULAR"
Our Alto Cantabria Estate “Viñedo Singular” situated on a 11.5-hectare high plateau with an elevation of 114 metres above the meandering River Ebro below is ideal due to its excellent location. The steeply sloping perimeter hillsides are perfect to avoid frost; extreme aeration prevents the accumulation of humidity and dew drops on the clusters, thus avoiding to jeopardize the health of the grapes; its limestone and sandy loam soils mark its exceptionality for the cultivation of white varieties.
The Viura grape plot used for this wine has an extension of 8.6 hectares and was planted in 1975. In 2019 it was certified as a “Viñedo Singular”. This category can only be achieved by those parcels with notable features of quality and distinction.
Selected hand harvesting into boxes and subsequent temperature balancing in cold storage. Winemaking with free-run juice. Partial fermentation in stainless steel tanks and finally in French oak barrels. Weekly bâtonnage and ageing on the lees for 6 months in French oak barrels.
It has a light straw yellow colour with greenish hues, clean and bright.
It displays intense aromas of white flowers such as orange blossoms and stone fruit, like pears, with a delicate background of dried fruit notes, such as hazelnuts along with subtle smoky aromas provided by the oak ageing.
Complex, smooth, fresh with a tasty sapid character typical of the limestone soil of our Alto Cantabria estate. With a vibrant and elegant aftertaste.
This wine goes well with fish in sauce or baked fish and white meats in general. Ideal with foie-gras, pasta and rice dishes with shellfish. Perfect match for aperitifs and Asian cuisine.
